Well i'm back at school, finally in my last year! 10 months or so and i'm out in the big bad world, although how it can get any worse I so far cannot comprehend.
I've been the chairperson at the World Schools Debating Championships recently, which has been a great experience! For the last three days (thurs, fri, mon) i've been introducing judges and teams from all around the world! I don't really mind public speaking so I wasn't worried about my three page speech (three pages! no need) however the pronunciation of the names was making me worried.
Day one.. start me off easy? Nah lets give me Slovakia! FUN. Not to mention i'm pretty sure one of their competitors were like 40. But on the plus side it was Slovakia vs. Ireland, so I got to spend the debate drooling over the Irish accents! Then on the Friday I hit the jackpot again, chairing the Canada vs. Hong Kong debate. One of the Canadians.. oh my lord. I have never seen a more beautiful human being in all my life. And I don't say stuff like that often, but it actually brought tears to my eyes. They really don't make them like that here in Scotland. In the afternoon I was chairing Hong Kong vs. Barbados, which was a bit dull. And today as my final day I was chairing Bermuda vs. China. Yes, China had a team aswell as Hong Kong, don't ask, I don't know how they managed that. Anyway, China won the debate, although I don't know how, everyone in the room seemed shocked by the decision!
So, on to the drama I mentioned before! Why is it people think they can go around speaking about anyone they fancy and nobody is gonna find out about it?! Currently my supposed 'best friend' seems to be spending her every waking moment talking about me to someone! Although it's quite amusing how everyone is coming back and telling me everything she is saying. But still. That is not the point. So I was walking through our school hall last week and the Head Teacher stopped me to ask about how i'm getting along in Physics, since i've previously had to get my mother and father in about the teaching standards in that department, so I stopped and chatted to him, telling him about my grades and how I was re-sitting, and that was that. Didn't think anything of it. But since then about 5 different people have approached me and asked whether I was 'begging' him to get the prefect position. WHAT THE HELL? Yeah so apparently while I was speaking to the Head, all of our years prefects were sitting in the other side of the hall, and my 'supposed best friend' said to everyone 'Does she have no dignity? I bet she is begging him to get prefect.' Again, WHAT THE HELL? It is so annoying because she said it infront of everyone so they will all believe it! And it makes me look pathetic x1000!
Oh she frustrates me when she pulls stunts like that.
Also in the holidays I passed my Moped Test, so I now have a full license (woo!), cannot wait until i'm 17 so I can get a 125cc, my wee 50 is the cutest thing in the world, don't get me wrong, but I want something with a bit more OOMPH!
Anyway, I had better go continue my regime of getting to bed early or i'll never get to school on time.
